Hi. My name is Connie Vincent. I was approved as a Baptist Bible Fellowship missionary to Kenya in May 1998. I graduated in 1994 with a bachelor of arts degree in Christian Education and a minor in the missions course at Baptist Bible College, Springfield Missouri. I served my internship at High Street Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri. I arrived on the field in May 1999 where I have served since.
During the nearly 20 years I attended High Street I was privileged to serve in several areas. They included helping in the college and career class, serving as a counselor in the Junior High department, and serving as the superintendent of the 5th grade SS department. At the same time I was also helping in the AWANA program. I started as the secretary with the 5th-6th grade girls, then was asked to become the director. 13 years into the ministry I was asked to step in and become the Commander of the program which I did after seeking the Lord’s will. He gave me the great privilege of doing this amazing and wonderful position for 7 years before He called me to the mission field of Kenya. He knows just what we need to prepare us for the future areas He calls us to serve in.
My ministry in Kenya includes doing ladies meetings out in our bush churches, along with 2 Kenyan ladies who travel with me and do teaching as well. I am also privileged to work with our over 250 national pastors doing Sunday School training seminars when asked to come to their church and hold one. Another area of ministry God laid on my heart to develop and has proven to be a great tool in reaching children is a ministry we calle “kids days/children crusades”. We have had as many as 1200 children, with an average attendance normally around 250 at a given event. These events have attributed to more than 800 children making a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. To God be the glory for everything.
